Our Programs
Behavioral Program
Children’s behaviors can at times interfere with their academic achievement. Rather than allow those behaviors to detract from children’s learning, our team provides regular opportunities for children to learn from these experiences.
Early Intervention Program
Children up through 3 years old who have a diagnosis, or who are at risk of developmental delays may receive specialized programming. Through Carousel’s unique Early Intervention Program, children with special needs may participate in an integrated half day preschool program with typically developing peers, while also receiving the additional therapeutic support services they need.
Pre-School and Infant Center
Carousel Pre-School and Infant Center is a private school. We offer a carefully selected program under the guidance of qualified and experienced teachers.
Adaptive Aquatics Program
Swimming uses all the major muscle groups, and is a demanding aerobic exercise that helps to keep the heart and lungs healthy. Swimming also helps to keep the joints flexible, especially in the neck, shoulders, and hips as the limbs and body move through the water.
Movement to Performance Program
At Carousel, we believe that dance benefits all children. Our Movement to Performance Program focuses on children’s movement, and coordination development. Once students master some of the basic skills, they are able to apply their acquired skills to perform choreographed dance.
After School Program
These programs are designed to provide new opportunities for skill development and learning. Carousel teachers with experience in the particular area or After School Staff will be directing the Club meetings.
Saturday Camp
Open every Saturday from 9:00am - 4:00pm, participating children enjoy a variety of activities such as arts, crafts, music, cold cooking, and optional field trips.
Rapid Prompting Method
The Rapid Prompting Method (RPM) is a unique teaching method developed at Carousel School by Soma Mukhopadhyay. Our education staff and therapists integrate RPM techniques into children’s daily routines. By presenting students with a subject, and a series of optional responses students can select their answers.
DCFS Family Services
Carousel has a contract to provide Therapeutic Child Care services to families needing care for their children at risk or identified with having special needs.
